40 hours minimum flight time to include:
- 20 hours of dual instruction including:
- 3 hours cross-country training
- Ten takeoffs and landings to a full stop
- Three hours of flight solely by reference to instruments
- Three hours of flight training within the past 60 days in preparation for the practical test.
- Ten hours of solo flight to include:
- Five hours of cross-country flight
- One cross-country flight with a total distance of 150 nautical miles, one leg of at least 50 nautical miles, with landings at three different airports
- Three landings to a full stop at an airport with an operating control tower
- Must pass the FAA written exam prior to the practical flight test
